Adult Curriculum Teachers

Manal Daher (Director)

Manal Daher has been serving the growing Islamic community for over 15 years and has been involved in multiple centres and organisations across Sydney, Australia. Manal has been teaching the Quran for over 10 years to girls and women of all ages, and has trained up many teachers of the Quran who continue to teach across multiple centres in Australia.

Manal is the first ever Female Islamic Chaplain for Corrective Services NSW and has been providing pastoral care, spiritual support as well as religious advice and classes to female inmates across 4 of NSW’s Corrective Services Centres.

Manal is the President of the A.F.A.S Inc Charity which assists orphans and refugees internationally, and is the Director of Unity 4 Our Community disability Services.

Louai Kanaan (Centre Manager)

Louai Kanaan is a keen student and teacher of the Islamic sciences. He mainly studied with some of the scholars in Sydney, Australia (where he resides), and also spent some time in Malaysia undertaking intense Islamic studies. He has Ijaazah in Riwaayah Hafs 'an 'Aasim (from multiple teachers) and Riwaayah Qaaloon 'an Naafi'. He also has Ijaazaat (licences to teach) in the Islamic sciences of Tajweed, Uloom al-Quran, Seerah, Hadith, Tafseer, Shamaa'il and other related etiquette and Tazkiyah (spirituality) texts.

Louai has also been given a formal Ijaazah as a Teacher Trainer in the Madinah Series of Curriculums (Tajweed, Uloom al-Quran, Seerah, 40 Hadith of Shamaa'il, Tafseer via Majma'ul Bahrayn). He has taught and continues to teach these sciences across multiple centres in Sydney, Australia.

Khaled Itaoui (Shari'ah Teacher)

Khaled Itaoui is a keen student and teacher of the Quranic sciences. He has Ijaazaat (licences to teach) in Tajweed, Uloom al-Quran, Tafseer, Seerah and others sciences. He has completed memorisation of the noble Quran, with the majority of it being completed in South Africa. He primarily studied with some of the scholars in Sydney, Australia (where he resides), and also spent a lot of time in Malaysia undertaking intense studies. Khaled specialises in the Quranic sciences, especially in the field of Tafseer, where he has studied the entirety of Tafseer al-Jalaalayn, and many portions from Tafseer an-Nasafi, Tafseer as-Sa'di and Tafseer Ibn Juzayy. He has also been given Ijaazah directly from the compiler of Tafseer Majma'ul Bahrayn (Juz Amma). He has taught and continues to teach in multiple centres in Sydney, Australia.

Sarah Rustom (Quran Teacher)

Sarah Rustom has been a Quran teacher and manager for many Women’s Quran departments at multiple centres across Sydney, Australia. She has effectively managed a team of 7 Quran Teachers, running back to back classes from beginner to advanced levels of the Quran for over 2 years. Sarah also has received Ijaazaat in Riwaayat Hafs 'an 'Aasim from Shaykh Ahmad Jaaweesh.

Junior Curriculum Teachers

Abdul Hamid Wehbe

Abdul Hamid is a current Quran Teacher at UQC and has been for over a year. He is also currently undergoing a part-time Bachelor of Shari'ah (online) at the Islamic University of Madinah. Abdul Hamid has been granted Ijaazaat (licences to teach) in multiple Tajweed texts, and also holds a formal Ijaazah in teaching the Madinah Series of Curriculums (Quran).

Mona Aakataa

Mona is a keen student and teacher of the Quran, and has been studying the recitation of the Quran for over 4 years. She is currently undergoing the Ijaazah process for Riwaayat Hafs 'an 'Aasim and currently teaches at UQC.

Mohamad Hamoui

Mohamad currently teaches Quran at UQC, with the main focus being on Hifzh (memorisation of the Quran). Mohamad has also completed memorisation of the entire Quran, which was mainly done in Sydney, Australia where he teaches. Mohamad is currently undergoing a part-time Bachelor of Shari'ah (online) at the Islamic University of Madinah.
